Frequently Asked Questions

What makes you different from other photographers?

We promise that you will never be "just another client".  We are available if you need to talk, vent, help plan, etc.  Also, we understand that the dynamics with family and friends can be stressful and chaotic.  On your day, if we need to be "bouncers" on your behalf, we will.  We are willing to step in and be the "bad guy".  We do not have to have Thanksgiving dinner with your family.  YOU and your happiness are our top priority!

 

We are not trend followers.  We don't follow the crowd.  We like color.  True-to-life, rich, vibrant color.  We like green grass and leaves.  They don't look good in grey.  We like natural skin tones.  You don't look good as an Oompa Loompa.  If you are looking for "dark and moody", we would not be a good fit.  We like timeless, not dated.  

We provide photos that will last through the generations.

 

What type of photography do you provide?

We specialize in engagements and wedding.  However, we love all types of photography.  Seniors, maternity, birth, family, head shots are all welcome.  We love to capture documentary style photography, too.  Is your family planning a once in a lifetime vacation and you would like to leave your camera at home and just enjoy it while still have it documented?

We would love to tag along!

 

What kind of images can we expect to receive? 

You will receive a combination of posed and candid moments.  We like to capture your day as it unfolds so will try to pose as little as possible.  However, some formal photos are still necessary.

 

Will we receive all images including RAW? 

No, you will not.  You will receive all final, edited images.  As we edit, we discard any image that was a test photo, blurry, too dark, too light, eyes closed, etc.  You will receive the best of what we capture. 

 

Do you have props and specific poses? 

No, we do not have props.  However, if there is something you would like to use, we definitely welcome you to include it in your photos.  We do have certain poses that we like to use, but if it seems like they're not working, we will mix it up to find something that does. 

 

I see your are a husband & wife team. How does that work? 

Yes.  We are a husband and wife team.  This works very well.  The day of your wedding, I am able to concentrate completely on the bride.  Steve is able to concentrate completely on the groom.  This captures both sides of you story.  After the ceremony, we stick together to document the rest of your day.

 

Are you willing to work on holidays?

Yes, however there may be an additional charge depending on the holiday and location.

 

Are you willing to travel?

ABSOLUTELY!  Some of our favorite sessions and weddings have been destination.

 

If you were to travel for our event, are we responsible for your travel fees?

Yes.  Travel is covered within a 75 mile radius of our home.  Beyond that, travel fees will be added.  If within driving distance, we require the cost of gas round trip and a hotel for two nights.  If we need to fly, we require two round trip airfare, three nights hotel and a rental car for four days.  We will make our own arrangements.

 

How much are your packages?

Do you require a down payment?

Yes. we require a $1000 non-refundable retainer for weddings.  We require a 50% non-refundable retainer for all other sessions.

Do you offer discounts?

Yes.  We always offer military and first responders discounts.  We also offer a discount if you choose to pay in full at time of booking.

 

Do you book more than one wedding/session per day?

For weddings, no.  We will only book one wedding per day.  For sessions, we usually only book one per day, but if time permits, we will book two.

 

How many photographers and how many hours are included?

Every engagement and wedding photography package includes two photographers.  Other sessions may come with one or two photographers depending on schedule.  Sessions include up to 4 hours depending on the location.  Weddings include all day coverage.

 

Do we have to have all day wedding coverage? Can we book by the hour?

We highly recommend all day wedding coverage.  This way, none of us are looking at our watches to see if we are within the time contracted.  Your last concern should be us.  With that said, yes, you can book a custom, hourly package.  These start at $300 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours.

 

Does it cost extra to have two photographers?

No. As stated above, each engagement and wedding package comes with two photographers.  If a second photographer is available for other sessions, that is a bonus for you!

 

What is your turnaround time for photos?

We try to have a handful of sneak peeks up within 24 hours of your event.  We then post to our blog within a week.  Final images will be delivered via an on-line gallery within 4-6 weeks for sessions and 10-12 weeks for weddings (depending on time of year).

 

Can we purchase prints and products from you?

Definitely!  We work with a professional lab for all of our prints, albums, gallery wraps, etc.  Every client receives a 25% discount when ordering through us.

 

What is the process to book you?

If we have your date available, once we receive your retainer and your signed contract, you will be added to our schedule.
